Cover Girl Check-in: Manykhoth Thosy

Our theme for this issue was “Embracing Challenges”. Last year, we had the opportunity to interview Manykhoth Thosy, who was about to uproot her life in San Diego and move out to New York City. This was a formidable challenge to take on. She fearlessly took a risk–leaving behind friends and family, her sunny home, and a place she had grown to be comfortable in. We sent her an email to check in on how she’s doing, and she is living her best life out there!

“The move to New York was jarring for me because I had concerns about building a new social circle, my finances, and landing a position in the marketing field. At first, I was hesitant to leave my comfort zone on my own. But I kept reminding myself that I moved here for my personal and professional growth. I mentioned that my goal was to obtain a marketing position in New York but that has still yet to come. And that’s okay! I try not to dwell on that aspect because my experience here in New York is much more than that and I believe that’s something of value to remember. The people you meet truly influence your experience and I wouldn’t be this happy and socially successful without the friends I met on this journey so far.”
