We are now accepting submissions for our Q2 issue, which are due February 26, 2025. The theme for Q2 is “Healing”! Any articles that fit into the theme in some way are welcome, and if you would like to contribute but need a bit of inspiration, here are a few thought-provoking questions below to help spark some creativity for the theme:

Identity

  • How do cultural traditions or expectations influence your healing journey?

Media/Entertainment

  • Are there any pieces of media that you recall encountering traditional healing methods?

    • Example: Mad Fate

  • How has the exposure of Traditional Chinese practices like cupping on social media influenced your perception and appreciation of traditional Chinese medicinal practices?

Culture/Community

  • What are some products your parents or grandparents told you to use?

    • Examples: Tiger Balm, Pei Pa Gao, etc.

  • How have misconceptions about MSG or other ingredients associated with Asian cuisine shaped the way you think Asian cuisine is perceived and represented in the U.S.?

  • Reflect on what your family or community members have told you about certain practices when growing up.

    • Examples: No drinking cold water, eat less of ___ and more of ___, “yeet hay”, don’t go to sleep with your hair wet.

Lifestyle

  • What are some ways to incorporate principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western health practices in your daily routine to create a holistic approach to wellness?

    • Do you combine these principles together? In what ways do you do?

  • Has growing up made you understand/more compelled to follow some principles over others that you previously didn’t?

  • Was there anything that you have heard over and over again and either: found it actually worked OR tried it out and it didn’t work for you?

Art/Prose

  • Any pieces of art or prose that relate to the theme are welcome!
